Universal Clamp Guide
The Universal Clamp will adjust from 3/8 of an inch up to 2 inches simply by turning the free end either curve in or curve out. It securely clamp tight to wood, metal or solid plastic.
The maximum width of the baluster cannot exceed 2 inches. The depth of the baluster however ranges from 3/8 inch to 1 ¾ inches with bolts provided. With longer bolts (not provided) the depth ranges from 3/8 inch to 3 inches.
Always attach the hanger to the baluster before adding any accessories. In some cases longer bolts may be needed (comes with 1/4-20 x 2 inch carriage bolt). Below Shows how the free end (not welded to hanger) of the clamp should look when clamping it to the different shape and sizes balusters or the different shape and size accessories when using the Umbrella Mount (aka Universal Pole Mount).
This guide only shows how the Universal Clamp attaches to the different vertical poles. It does not guarantee the pole it is being attached will hold the weight of the accessory or the pressure of the clamp. Please ensure the railing that you are planning to hang accessories from can handle the extra weight or pressure from wind or other elements before installation.
